We used a particularly splendid material for this IBEX full-integral: abalone. This snail species featuring shells rich in mother-of-pearl lives in most warm waters around the globe (even in the English channel!). Its iridescent shimmer is caused by organic materials overlaying, e.g. aragonite and conchiolin.
